One day before the class, I had received a call from my friend and she said that Dr. Wan asks all of us to bring a piece of bamboo. At that time, I don't know why we had to bring all this things. Until we were in the class, I just know what the purpose is. Dr. Wan had shown us that every part of the bamboo can let out the sound not only the trunk. After that, he gave us an assignment and we had to do our own bamboo sound tools. This bamboo sound tool we have to use in:

1. the HBP 10/11 Freshman Orientation 23-25th July 2010
2. Merdeka Launch 30th August 2010
3. USM Bamboo Symposium on 4th October 2010

Although this weekend is the orientation for the first year student of HBP but we still have to do our own assignment and had to pass up on time. We also had to show our product in the A2 board with the format like this.

In the beginning, we had borrowed a saw from the lab to cut off the trunk of bamboo. In my mind, i would like to make my bamboo sound tool like picture below.
I had put some bamboo leaves on top of the bamboo trunk and that is a small hole which can stabilize it. This is because the bamboo leaves can let out more sweetly sound. Lucky one of the senior told me that this design cannot stand longer because the leaves will doddered. He advised me to use some of the small bamboo trunk instead of leaves. After that, I change my design and the diagram as shown as below.

Below is 100 words about my bamboo sound tool which I had been wrote on my A2 board:

My Bamboo sound tool is made by a piece of bamboo which is about 65cm. There are two colour of my bamboo sound tool and I had been used the natural colour of bamboo that is green and brown. The green colour bamboo will let out sound which is more stereo when I used the brown colour bamboo to hit it due to its thick wall. Apart from that, I also use some brown colour bamboo which is thinner to bind together using the rubber band. After that, i put this bamboo on top of the green bamboo and there was a small hole to stabilize it. Hence the thin bamboo will not fall down. It also will let out a sound when I used another bamboo to hit it and heard more sweetly .This is because there are different length of thin bamboo were binding together and it will be let out their own sound when hit it. The combination of their own sound was heard become more rhythm. By doing this bamboo sound tool, it had been given me a consciousness that unity is strength .This had been given evidence by the combination of thin bamboo which can let out more sweetly sound. Besides, my friends also helping me while I am doing this bamboo sound tool so I can complete it in a short time.
