Today, we were asking to sketch a story which Dr. Ilias had told us last week regarding the competition between rabbit and tortoise. We had to sketch the story in ten piece of A3 paper in half an hour. In the beginning, three students had been selected to perform the story and we had to sketch while the story was performing. Below are the pictures where the story was performing.

Today, Friday (30th July 2010), is the submission for our masks. Before that, Dr.wan had told us to wear black colour clothes and bring along the sarong. In the class, we just know that we had to wear our own mask to parade around HBP building. The end point is in front of the E48B room and we had to write down our name. After that, we had to take photo. The first photo is without the mask while the second picture had to wear coloured mask and the third photo is with the black and white photo. Below is the picture that Dr. Wan was explaining the process of submission. Below is the picture that I taken with my friends before the parade.

Project 2C: The 101 Mask

The 101 Mask

On Monday, Dr Abdel Naser had taught us about the layer. His presentation was about 15-20 minutes and he gives us to see a movie which can link with the layer. After that, Dr. Wan gave us a project again. In this project, we have to make two masks:

• First mask: own full face, same skin colour
• Second mask: face with emotion, only black and white

After the class, I went to the stationary shop to buy some material such as glue, water colour, balloon and so on. Then, I start doing my project at 8 o'clock in the evening. Below is the picture of material that I had been used in this project.

First of all, I cut the newspaper in the small pieces and put it in the pail which contains the water. This is because the wet paper can easily paste on the balloon.

After that, I paste these papers on the balloon following the shape of balloon and repeating layer by layer. Then, I dry the balloon by hanging it near to the window and expose it to the sunlight. The next day, I separate the newspaper and the balloon .The newspaper had become the shape of balloon and harder.
I also paste the white colour paper on top the newspapers so it looks more nicely.
On Wednesday, I just know that I do the wrong step because I can't make my eye and nose on the mask because it too hard already. Oops.....I had to re-do my mask again..........
At that night, I start to make the new mask. In the beginning, I put the plastic on my face to prevent it expose to the tissue papers and newspaper. Then, I paste the wet tissue above the plastic with glue and the next layer was the newspaper. I had been waiting for about 10-15 minutes until the shape to be seen.
After take out the mask from my face, I use the hair dryer to dry out the masks.

Then, I paste the white colour paper on my mask so it is much easier for colouring.

After one day, the mask was become harder and I start to colour the first mask which is similar with my skin colour.

Then, I colour the second mask which is black and white.

Finally..... I finish my masks already and below are my product.

Orientation of HBP

Housing, Building and Planning

This weekend is the orientation for HBP of first year students. On Friday, after the class, we had to come back for the activity at 2.3o in the evening and gather at E48B for the opening ceremony. They had invited our Dean, Pro Ir Dr. Mayuddin Ramli and given a speech for the opening ceremony. Below are the pictures:

After that, is the tea-break time. Facilitators had prepared some food to us such as tea and "bihun goreng". Both of us were enjoying the food. Then, we were separating into sixteen groups and each group had to create their group name, logo, trademark, and so on. Our group name is varia . This is because our group have different sex, age, race and course people. Around 17 30, we went back to our hostel and had to gather again at 2000.

At night, we had to perform our group name and trademark to our senior and this section was ending around twelve o'clock in the midnight. All of us were feel very tired.

At the second day, we had to gather again at HBP at 0830 for the morning exercise and then we had to walk around to the campus with senior and take the photo.

In the evening, we were given the time to complete our assignment that is bamboo sound tools.

The last day morning, we had to "gotong-royong" at Taman Rekreasi USM. Then, we went back for lunch and continue the discussion again regarding performances for that night at DUP.

At 2030, all of us was gather at HBP and we had to wear the cap. We also can enjoy the delicious food and the performances of group. My group had performed a story and singing.

Around 0130,we were dismissed.
