Project 3C: 6-Balloon Black Bamboo Box

6-Balloon Black Bamboo Box
9th August 2010
0900-1100

In this project, we had to make a black box which can place six balloons and use this box for the countdown of Super Merdeka Celebration.

Project 3C:
1) Using Bamboo and recycled paper produce a box for 6 standard sized helium-filled balloons.
2) No part of balloon is exposed.
3) All balloons must be releasable by box owner one at a time
4) Due Friday 13th Aug 2010, 0900 hrs. To be used Monday 30th Aug, 11:59:9
5) Box must be light and pass through the USM bus door.

In my opinion, I would like to make a box which looks like train because I always go back to my hometown by train and it's took a very long time. First of all, I was preparing some material for this project such as glue, bamboo sticks, recycled paper, scissors, and cutter.
After that, I start to cut the bamboo sticks into different length to make the frame structure of the box.
I combine the bamboo sticks by using uhu glue so it becomes stronger frame structure.

Below are the combinations of bamboo sticks with different length.

I make the base with some cardboard which is remaining from the previous project. Then, I use the bamboo sticks to make the frame of the box.

I make the wall of the box by using the recycled paper and newspaper.

Then, I start to make the cover of the box.

I make another layer of the cover by using newspaper.

I paste the sugar paper on the cover of the box so it is black in colour.

I also paste the sugar paper on the wall and base of the box.

After that, I start to design my black box. I colour it with red, blue and green colour.

In the process.

Then, I paste the small bamboo sticks on the wall of the box.

Finally, I draw my logo on my box.

I finish my project already. Below is my black box.

On 13th August 2010, it's the time to pass up our project. We were testing our balloon box behind of the E48B.

Dr. Wan was giving us the explanation of our black box. Student was present their own black box in front and showing how they release the six balloons. After the class, we had to pass up our product. My major is interior design so I had to pass up my product to the design studio.

Project 3B: My Black Box

My Black Box
06th August 2010
0900-1100

There was class today regarding vision and rule. In the class, PM Dr Sr Masturav had given us an exercise that is doing a circle with a dot inside without remove the pen. Most of us cannot find the answer and lastly we just know that we can remove other material instead of remove the pen. After the talk, it's the Dr. Wan turn to give us an assignment again. We had to design our own black box.

Issuance of Project 3B: Black Box
1)Have an A4 Black Book
2)Sketch out as many pages as possible of your black box in the black book
3)Choose presentable images from pages of the black book.
4)Compose an A3 page of black board.
5)Photosat page
6)Wash page with water colour.
7)Submit Monday,9th August 2010,0900
After the class, I start doing my sketches .

This is my sketches book:

First of all, I would like to practice with drawing the shape of box without any designing and below is my first sketches.

This is my second sketches. I had sketched a rectangle box which is bigger that the first one because I think that it can carry more things due to its bigger space. Besides, if let say it is the box that we had to use when the natural disaster coming, it is enough spaces for my family to protect themselves. This is my third sketches. I had sketch a loop on top of the cover which is easier to open the box. This is my fourth sketches. I had sketches some hole on the surface of box which can help the circulation of air.

This is my fifth sketches.
This is my sixth sketches with design. In this box, I had draw brushes, pencils, and some material on the surface of black box. This had been shows I had use all these things to continue my study here. This is my seventh sketches. I had been drawing my parent and me on the surface of my black box. This is because I very miss my family since I start my study here. So, in my opinion, I would like to put my album in this box which taken with my family. This is my eighth sketches. In this box, I had drawn a lot of squares that overlapped each other on the surface of the box. This is the technique that we had been learned last two weeks. Among this eight sketches, I had chosen the last three sketches and compose it into A3 size and then Photostat it.. After that, I start to wash the A3 paper with water colour .

In the process.

Finally, I had done my Black Box.
I also had drawn another black box but I think the above is the most suitable.

On the submission day, Dr. Wan had ask us to present our project in the class. The below picture shows the presenter of interior design was talking in front of the class.

Project 3A: Casket For Me

Casket For Me
02th August 2010
0900-1100

Today, we were issuing an assignment again. We had to design our own casket.

Assignment:
On one A3 board, sketch out the following:
a) a casket for you and your sarong
b)show how you are to be placed in it
c)show how the casket is to be carried by six friend
d)what it if were made out of bamboo

In my opinion, I think that assignment can be related with human dimension as the class just now. So, I start my sketching with "one cengkal". I put a pillow in my casket so it is more comfortable. Besides, I put myself in horizontal way because i think that it's the time for rest. I also use the sarong to cover my body to prevent cool.

Below are my sketches:
A) The picture show me in the casket and the sarong was covering my body.
B) My casket was made up of bamboo.

C) My casket was carrying bysix friends.
Finally, I finish my sketches already.

Classes for 02th August 2010-Human Dimension

Human Dimension
02th August 2010
0900-1100

Today, Ar. Mohd Najib Mohd Salleh had given us a talk regarding human dimension. After the talk, Dr. Wan was giving the explanation and we will have a fast sketches again.

We had to draw the human dimension using "one cengkal". I had heard this word before and this is the dimension that people use a long ago. Firstly, Dr. Wan ask all of us make a point using "one cengkal" and then draw a straight horizontal and vertical line .Then, we have to divided “one cengkal” into 1:5 and lastly to 1:10. After that, we had to draw our own body dimension in the line.

Below is my sketches for the exercise 1.

After that, Dr.Wan asks us to sketches the cube in the A3 paper as many as possible and the picture must include:

a) opaque
b) transluscent
c) transparent
d) shadow
e) shade
f) overlap

Due to the time is very short and we cannot finished the sketches, then Dr. Wan ask us to complete it at home and post it on the blog.

In the process.
Still in the process.
Finally , I finish my sketches for the exercise 2.
