Task C: Own Monumen

In the class, we were told to create our own monument. Before that, we were asking to visit Jewish Cemetery. It was located at Jalan Zainal Abidin. I went there with my friends that are Shing Iee, May Ling and Suet Ching on Tuesday. Around 8 o'clock in the morning, we start our journey to Jewish Cemetery by bus. Around 8.30, we reach there. Looking Forward

Task B:Looking Forward-how do you expect you are going to contribute 2012

It is the third month for me in HBP-USM and the major is Interior design.For the next two and the half year, I hope I can graduate and contribute myself in this world. In my opinion, as a interior designer, I would like to create a safety, comfortable space for human living.


In the era of technology, everyone was busy with their work and study. The home is the place where can relax and rest. Hence, I hope I can design the place which can make them fells more comfortable and release their stress. Furthermore, I hope can handle some heavy project such as design of shopping complex and hotel.

If the 2012 is coming, I think the beauty of the space is not important. In my opinion, I would like design a smaller room as possible as can in the disaster kit but it still comfortable. This is because a smaller space can occupy more people so more people can be saved.

For the older people, their body cannot function as younger people and I think that most of the older people having the leg pain. Hence, I would like to design a space which is more convenience for them for moving.

Looking Backwards

Task A: Looking backwards Before School Holiday

By looking backward fourteen week, it was the time I leave my hometown to Penang. Penang is very far from my hometown which is at Tampin so I came here with my friend by bus. I feel strangeness because this is just the second time I came Penang. I’m not familiar with the building surrounds and the people. After the registration, we allow went to our own hostel. After clean out my own room, I just know I don’t have roommate and I had to live here alone for one semester. But I didn’t feel scare because it was the time for me to learn how to be more independent.

After one week orientation, it was the time for us to study. I feel very tired because I just came back from Pimpin siswa and don’t have enough sleep. When I entered the class, I don’t have any friend and don’t know what the studio master teaching in front is. Besides, we get the first assignment when we enter the first class that is RUS 101. In this assignment, we had to make own blog and blog out what we had been heard in the class. This is the first time I make this all things and lucky the new friend around was helping me. Besides, we also had to use this blog for our next assignment. For the other classes, the lecturers were telling us their teaching schedule. This all is about the first week classes.

From second week onwards, the entire lecturer had been start their lessons and we will have more assignment. But I had learn a lot of knowledge from this all assignment and that is the good experience for me in this llife. Lecturer had brought us to Taman Rekreasi USM to study the structure of bamboo. We had the opportunity to learn more about the natural structure of bamboo.
We also had created our creativity and innovative to create a story about the structure a bamboo.

For the third week, Lecturer had showing us that every part of bamboo can generate sounds and we were asking to make a bamboo sound tools. Furthermore,there was school orientation but we was giving time to complete our project. In the orientation, We had chances to know more lecturers, senior, friend and create a presentation at night with our group member.

For the fourth week,we also had opportunity to make our own mask. I had been done it in the primary school but it is different from what I’m doing now. In this time, we had to draw out our own skin colour and the mask must same shape with our face.

We also have to practice fast sketching in the classes.

For the fifth week, Lecturer had thought us about the human dimension and we had create our own casket with salong.

We also had to make a black box to occupy six standard balloon for the Merdeka .

For the sixth week,we had to go to the time square and design an event for Merdeka using bamboo sound tools and mask that had been made.This is the first time I walk in this Time Square. In this assignment, Group work is essential to complete the project. All of us was giving owm opinion.

For the seventh week, we also have opportunity to do group work by create a threaterette. There are Malay and Chinese in our group so this is the chances for us to learn unity. We also had chances to attend countdown for Merdeka and I haven't doing this before.

Before the school holiday and Hari Raya, I went to Bukit Jambul with my group member and playing the bowling.

This week is school holiday and i can go back to my hometown already this saturday. But before that, our friday class was cancelled and Dr. Wan had issued us an assignment again for Hari Raya.

Project 6A: Disaster Kit

1. Adopt any USM intention from Galeri Penyelidikan USM.
2. Design a Survival Kit from the invention/s, to go on to the IBU.
3. Show how you design may used by IBU during disaster-time.
4. Upload on to your website, Due 10 Sep 2010, 1200 noon

In my opinion, i think that food is importat to us because it provide energy to us for daily activity such as carbohydrate, protein, vitamin and so on. It can be seem that there are a lot of people was die due to lack of food and nutrient during the natural disaster. Therefore, I had chosen the " Info-link for halal food restaurant,2008" as my intention to design my survival kit on IBU.

There are different races in Malaysia such as Malay, India, Chinese and so on. Hence the food that provide during disaster must be halal and available for all races.

I had chosen IBU as centre to make the food since IBU act as a Central Control, able to monitor the activities in each PONDOK. There are different way for all of us to order the food.

a) SMS services -We can order the food through sms.

b) Mobile PDA aplications- order the food throuh internet and search whether what type of food is available.

c) Internet cafe- Each PONDOK will provide a room to access internet for those who did not have any handphone and PDA. SUN SYSTEM was using for the application.

d) Customer service also provided. People can order the food through the hotline and there are operator was handling their order.
Chef will always check the order through the computer and prepare the food accordingly.

Finally, all the PONDOK will surround the IBU to collect their food.

Merdeka Countdown

Today is Merdeka Day or independent day for our country, we had a studio at Penang Times Square that is Merdeka Countdown. All of us had our own responsibility according to group such as release balloon, camera man, playing bamboo sound tools and so on. Our group was releasing the balloon. We went there by bus and all of us were divided into two group and we had to wait for the bus at 5 o'clock in the evening.

At 5 o'clock, our group member was waiting in front of E48b but there was no other people expect our group member. Then we just know the bus was leave and we had to go there by rapid bus. Below are the picture that we waiting in front of the class.

We were in the bus and going to Penang Times Square.

Around twenty minutes, we reached the Penang Times Square.

Below are the products that had been made by people for the competition.

We found some thread to tie the balloon.
While waiting for the countdown, we allow taking our dinner first. We were having our lunch beside Sunway Hotel. Then, we went to the Perangin Mall.

There were some activities in front of Perangin Mall and we were giving a small flag.

After that, we take a rest in front of the cafe. After that, we went back to Penang Times Square.

We are still waiting for countdown.

Around 11.50p.m, we were preparing for parade and releasing the balloon.

At 0000, the balloon was releasing.
We went back to USM around 0030.
